| A unique opportunity to acquire the skill of Bronze Casting using the lost wax and ceramic shell casting process. A mould will be taken from your own wax sculpture and a wax model created by the tutor. The work will be cast in a small foundry at the studio, built by the participating students. The techniques of finishing cast objects will include removing fired ceramic mould material - cutting the sculptures from the casting tree - recreating texture with finishing tools and finally, the art of Patination. A course to enable you to start up your own ‘backyard foundry’! |
