Space Return to Shute Farm Studio |

The Children
from 'Kickin Space', Hartcliffe,
Bristol have been coming to Shute
Farm Studio for 3 or 4 years now
and returned in August 2006 to
partcipate in another Stone Carving
Course. |

Tutored
by Kate Semple, the subject
of the course this time was
was "Animals Abstracted"
Students looked at how artists
have simplified and abstracted
the animal form. Whether it
be Egyptian art, South American
art or African art animals have
always been caricatured in sculpture. |

As part of their
Shute Farm Studio experience they
also visited Green Farm, a local
RSPB Nature Reserve and were given
the opportunity to look round
Millfield School Sculpture Park
and Art gallery. |
