Shute Farm
Studio opened it’s doors
on Saturday 22nd and Sunday
23rd September for a special
Open Weekend as part of art|works,
an East Mendip art initiative,
to show visitors some of the
activities that go on there.
Visitors were able to explore
the arts education centre whilst
Tutors demonstrated stone carving,
porcelain ceramics and raku
firing, stem sculpture, wood
carving, drawing, wood engraving,
thrown and hand-built ceramics
and printing.
Folk music was provided by Jane
Harwood and Russ Stanley, who
were also joined by their friends
‘Earthwards’ creating
a magical atmosphere as visitors
with their children enjoyed
‘hands on’ arts
experience.
