Tile Making &
Decoration and Green Farm visit |
| |
We came to Shute Farm
Studios as a group of ten students from
Sedgemoor Manor Junior School in Bridgwater.
A 2 day art project was set out for
the children in which they had the opportunity
of creating a piece of artwork to be
displayed in school.
Shute Farm is based in such an inspiring
setting that the children used the surrounding
features as an influence in their design;
from which they created a mosaic picture
based on pond life. They made tiles
from clay and drew their picture onto
the tiles; these were then painted,
glazed and fired. The end result was
brilliant and sits proudly in our school
corridor. |

Katie said ‘I
enjoyed when we made the tiles and went
to see how they milked the cows….there
was a garden, it was like a maze and
there was an arena where we ate our
lunch…’ |
| |
There was also
the opportunity for the children to
meet and work with some fantastic
members of staff, visit Brittens farm
and enjoy the setting and all it had
to offer. The children were outstanding,
they worked hard and it has given
them an experience they wont forget
and a chance to display their artistic
talents and explore new ideas. Thanks
to ‘Give It A Go!’ and
all the staff at Shute Farm! |
