KT Yun
KT Yun was born and raised in the Highlands of Scotland, near Loch Ness. From an early age her fascination for nature and a love of drawing began the analysis of how plants, animals and insects were designed and constructed.
Since discovering the amazing possibilities of glassmaking during her degree course at Farnham, KT has attempted to transfer her drawings into the third dimension using blown and solid hot sculpted glass. Most of the components are made separately, kept hot in a small kiln then attached to a body or bowl, using hot glass as “glue”. This process is exciting and risky, adding elements of both to the final piece.
KT has taught hot glass skills and designed for industry and now works as an independent glass artist, exhibiting internationally and working on commissions.
